Building on sustainability: Formative joins the UN Global Compact

Making Formative Content a more sustainable business flies high on our list of priorities, so we are pleased to announce that we have been welcomed as a new participant of the United Nations Global Compact.

The UN Global Compact is the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative – a global network made up of more than 17,000 companies and 4,000 non-business participants. Collaborations like this are a key part of efforts to combat climate change and create a more sustainable future, not only for us but also for generations to come.

“We’re thrilled to have signed up to the United Nations Global Compact – we hope we can play even a small part in trying to build a more sustainable future for all. This is just the beginning of our journey towards a more socially responsible future as a business,” says Formative Content CEO Gay Flashman.

Former UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan launched the Global Compact more than two decades ago, after first making calls for such a group at the World Economic Forum’s Annual Meeting in Davos in 1999. It aims to mobilise companies around the world, big and small, to align their strategies with 10 universal principles covering human rights, labour, the environment and anti-corruption.

Our day-to-day actions – including the way we conduct business and interact with staff, stakeholders, the wider community and the environment – have profound consequences, as the latest Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change report makes clear.

This is why Formative Content is proud to become part of the UN Global Compact, and is looking forward to becoming an even more sustainable and socially responsible place to work and do business.
